About Michal

Michal Z.Status: Offline
Software Expert (hands-on)
Warsaw, Poland - 3:40 pm local time
Solving complex issues and analytical thinking are definitely no strangers to me. My computer programming career began with my passion, determination and relentless need for constant self-development. I am always ready to offer a piece of advice and find some out-of-the-box solution to a given problem. I started coding when I was in secondary school -I was developing some simple HTML/CSS sketches and I was implementing them into ready-made PHP solutions. As a student, I used to deliver computing projects across different programming languages. I have also had a chance to work in a bank where I was responsible for developing Visual Basic .NET applications from scratch.

After some time, my scope of obligations got extended to Ruby on Rails and that is the technology that I’m still focused on today. Besides Rails, I’m also experienced in React.

I always look at my projects from future perspectives, no matter how big or small they might be. I always pay a lot of attention to the high quality of my code but at the same time, I want to make it as clear and understandable as possible. What is more, I always focus a lot of my attention on some potential edge cases and I do my best to prevent all unforeseen errors.

Currently, my specialities are:

Ruby, Ruby on Rails
JavaScript, HAML, CoffeeScript, jQuery, React
MySQL, Oracle, Postgres

Some of my projects:

Reef2Market:
Ruby on Rails platform based on Sharetribe GO that allows users to sell/buy/exchange their goods. I was responsible for both frontend and backend changes, but I was mostly working with a third party APIs integration (another PHP app integration, PayPal, Custom OAuth provider).
Stack: Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript, OAuth 2.0, MySQL, RSpec

ShoobPhoto:
An application which allows a photographic studio to manage and upload photos of students from local schools. Both students and their parents can customize their photos, buy them through the application and what is more they are notified via MMS with an actual photo. The application includes integration with Twilio, image-processing scripts (like creating watermarks) and CSV files export/import.
Stack: Ruby on Rails, Postgres

Warehouse:
My non-commercial application has been written from scratch to manage local warehouse storage and create orders for supplies (locally), based on users’ privileges and roles. The platform consists of Ruby on Rails API and React web application,
Stack: Ruby on Rails, React, RSpec, JWT, Postgres

Further experience:
During my work in the banking sector as a programmer, I was assigned to various types of applications that helped employees across the country in organizing their work. For example, I was responsible for developing an application that handled complaints service. It was integrated with very different 3rd party services and databases and consisted of three medium-sized applications. Next, I was assigned to multiple projects in my previous software house, including mostly React and RoR work. Recently, I was working on a global payment system (core) noted on the stock exchange.
Stack: Ruby on Rails, React, Python (Django only), Visual Basic .NET, SOAP, Oracle PL/SQL, SSO, GraphQL (one small Java application).

I’d be happy to take care of your project!

Thanks!
Michał
