Project details

You will receive a document-processing workflow designed around your own PDFs, scans, forms and operational records. Your documents can be transformed into structured, validated data ready for Excel, CSV, JSON, databases, APIs or other systems.

Depending on your requirements, your workflow can include document classification, field extraction, data normalisation, validation rules, exception handling, human review and batch processing.

You will also receive a process that keeps accuracy and traceability visible. Uncertain, missing or conflicting information can be routed for human review rather than silently accepted.

The result is more than basic OCR or one-off data extraction. You will receive a reusable workflow that reduces repetitive work, keeps human judgement where it matters, and turns real-world documents into trusted data your organisation can use.

About Tiago

Tiago F.Status: Offline
Senior GIS & Digital Systems Consultant | Moodle, Automation & AI
Cascais, Portugal - 11:00 am local time
I turn fragmented GIS, field data, learning platforms and digital workflows into reliable systems that organisations can actually operate, understand and maintain.

I am a Senior GIS & Digital Systems Consultant with 30+ years of professional experience across Europe, Africa and Asia, working at the intersection of geospatial systems, operational data, Moodle, digital infrastructure, automation and technical capacity building.

My clients typically come to me when the technology already exists — but the system around it does not work as well as it should. Data is scattered across spreadsheets, maps and documents. A GIS has become difficult to maintain. A Moodle platform depends too heavily on one administrator. Historical information needs to be reconstructed. Different tools do not communicate properly. Or an organisation wants to introduce AI and automation but first needs its data, workflows and controls to be reliable.

That is where I add value.

I do not approach these problems as isolated software tasks. I look at the complete operating environment: what information is collected, where it is stored, who validates it, how it supports decisions, what should be automated, how the system can be recovered, and whether the team can continue operating it after handover.

Areas I can support:

- GIS & Geospatial Systems: QGIS, spatial databases, PostGIS, GeoServer/MapServer, field-data workflows, web mapping, cartography, spatial analysis, dashboards, monitoring systems and geospatial quality control.
- Moodle & Digital Learning Systems: Moodle architecture, restructuring, recovery, upgrades, permissions, multilingual environments, integrations, backups, platform governance and administrator training.
- AI-Supported Automation & Data Workflows:** document and data extraction, classification, data cleaning, structured repositories, AI-ready knowledge bases and controlled automation with human validation.
- Data & Systems Integration: consolidation of fragmented operational information, historical-data reconstruction, project databases, indicators, evidence, reporting structures and digital workflows.
- Open Digital Infrastructure: Linux-based systems, databases, collaboration environments, migration planning, backup and recovery, permissions, documentation and continuity.
- Training & Technical Handover: practical training, operating procedures, administrator guides, competency transfer and systems designed to remain usable after external support ends.

My experience includes GIS and cartographic quality-control work within the Alqueva regional programme, covering an operational context of approximately 600,000 hectares, as well as GIS and census-related work across 14 municipalities. I have also designed and supported field-information systems, monitoring processes and technical capacity building in demanding international environments, including rural-development and agricultural programmes in Timor-Leste.

A principle has remained consistent throughout my career:

The best digital system is not necessarily the most sophisticated one. It is the one that produces trustworthy information, supports real decisions and continues to function when people, suppliers or circumstances change.

My approach is therefore practical:

Understand the operational problem → structure the information → design the smallest useful system → validate it with the people who will use it → document it → transfer the capability.

I am particularly interested in projects where GIS, data, platforms, automation and organisational knowledge need to work together, rather than exist as separate technical components.

If you have a complex GIS or data environment, a Moodle platform that needs restructuring, fragmented information that needs consolidation, an AI or automation workflow that requires reliable source data, or a digital system that has become too dependent on individual people, I can help you determine what needs to change — and build a practical path from the current situation to a system your organisation can trust.

Complex systems become manageable once the information, responsibilities and technology are made clear.

Steps for completing your project

After purchasing the project, send requirements so Tiago can start the project.

Delivery time starts when Tiago receives requirements from you.

Tiago works on your project following the steps below.

Revisions may occur after the delivery date.

Review documents and confirm the workflow

I review your sample documents, required fields, validation needs and output requirements, then confirm the processing approach and scope.

Build the extraction and validation workflow

I configure the document-processing workflow, including extraction, data structuring, validation rules and human-review logic required for your project.

Review the work, release payment, and leave feedback to Tiago.
