Project details

• I can either use an HTML template from my collection, or use one of yours, I am not a web designer. I may do minor changes.
 • We can arrange for multiple meetings to do demos so that you are satisfied of the work.
 • All demos will be done using a simple SQLite Database, if you need to work with another database, we can configure it at the end or at the deployment phase if you have chosen the deployment to production addon.
 • Functionalities, tables or models, and all details of the project must be agreed upon in writing (by email).

About Kaiss

Kaiss B.Status: Offline
Python Django Full Stack Expert
Ottawa, Canada - 6:30 pm local time
I’m a Backend & DevOps Engineer (10+ years) who ships production systems that are fast, secure, and easy to operate. Ex-founder/CTO with full-stack ownership across architecture, implementation, and SRE.

I work primarily with Python (Django, FastAPI), Golang, and TypeScript/Node—deploying to AWS/GCP with Kubernetes (EKS) and Terraform—while keeping costs, observability, and compliance front and center.

What I do:
- Backend architecture & APIs: High-throughput REST services, async workers, event-driven designs, background jobs, rate limiting, RBAC, multi-tenant.
- Cloud & DevOps: EKS/GKE, Docker, Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, blue-green/canary deploys, autoscaling, disaster recovery, cost controls.
- Data & reliability: Postgres/Aurora, Redis, Kafka; schema design, migrations, caching, performance profiling, SLOs/SLIs.
- Observability & security: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK; IAM, VPC, WAF, secrets management (SSM/Vault), Linux hardening, least-privilege.
- AI/LLM workflows (when relevant): Retrieval pipelines, vector stores (qdrant), evaluation harnesses in CI, latency/cost trade-offs, guardrails.

Recent wins (selected):
- Designed a Kubernetes platform on AWS (EKS) with Terraform/Helm: zero-downtime deploys, fine-grained IAM, automated TLS (ACM), and layered network policies.
- Built HIPAA/PIPEDA-aware data services (PHI handling, audit trails, encryption at rest/in transit) with end-to-end logging and traceability.
- Led a monolith → services migration: domain boundaries, async job workers, structured logging, rollout plan, and performance baselines.
- Performed infra audits and implemented cost-optimization (rightsizing, autoscaling policies, S3 lifecycle rules, query tuning) without sacrificing reliability.

Tech I’m fluent in:
- Languages: Python, Golang, TypeScript/Node; Rust for perf-critical services.
- Frameworks: Django, FastAPI, DRF, Gin.
- Cloud/DevOps: AWS (EKS, RDS/Aurora, S3, ALB/NLB, Cloud Map, Route 53, ACM, IAM, SSM), GCP equivalents; Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD/GitHub Actions.
- Data: Postgres, Redis, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB; Kafka/RabbitMQ; Airflow-style orchestration when needed.
- Observability/Sec: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK; OAuth/OIDC/SSO, JWT, Vault/SSM, WAF, audit logging.
- Testing/quality: Pytest, Go test, k6/Locust, property-based tests, ADRs, PR review guidelines, conventional commits.

How I work:
- Business-aligned engineering: Roadmaps expressed as outcomes, not just tickets. Clear acceptance criteria, risk registers, and rollback plans.
- Production-first: Health probes, budgets, SLOs, and dashboards from day one. Observability is a feature.
- Speed with guardrails: Trunk-based development, short-lived branches, automated checks, reproducible environments.
- Documentation: Architecture decision records, onboarding guides, and diagrams your team can actually use.

Engagement models:
- Architecture sprint: Validate requirements, produce an actionable blueprint (diagrams, IaC skeleton, backlog).
- Build & handoff: I implement core services/infrastructure, hand over with docs, tests, and training.
- Platform hardening/rescue: Stabilize flaky systems, improve reliability, add visibility, reduce on-call noise.
- Cost & performance audit: Identify quick wins and longer-term savings with measurable impact.

Industries & constraints:
Healthtech, HR tech, SaaS, data/analytics. Comfortable with regulated contexts (HIPAA, PIPEDA, SOC-2-style controls) and privacy-first designs.

Let’s talk: Send a short note with your goals, stack, and any constraints (timeline, budget, compliance). I’ll reply with a pragmatic plan, risks, and a clear first milestone.

Steps for completing your project

After purchasing the project, send requirements so Kaiss can start the project.

Delivery time starts when Kaiss receives requirements from you.

Kaiss works on your project following the steps below.

Revisions may occur after the delivery date.

Initial Meeting

We need to have a first meeting (video call) to talk more about your requirements.

Project and Database initialization

Here I install the requirements and initialize the different models of the database

Review the work, release payment, and leave feedback to Kaiss.
