Accurate modeling of data involves understanding the data and its intrinsic complexity and alternate methodologies for prediction. Machine learning is the rage but some forecasts are just as good or better with traditional methods if they have low complexity. If the forecast is complex, large amounts of historical data and exogenous variables can be extremely helpful in returning a useful result.
Most important, however, is problem definition. Vague or overly ambitious problem definitions cause problems and may not be realistic to meet. If there is an issue with the feasibility of a project, I will let you know up front and not charge you for junk.
