Most of my work starts the same way: someone has a Laravel app that works fine until it needs to talk to Stripe, or scale past a few hundred users, or run on a version that isn't three years out of support.
What I actually do:
APIs and integrations
REST and GraphQL endpoints your frontend or mobile team can use without asking you questions. Stripe, PayPal, Braintree, Twilio, AWS (S3, EC2, SES), Google APIs.
Payments and billing
Subscription billing, usage-based metering, recurring charges, invoicing, webhook handling that survives retries and race conditions. Built usage-based Stripe billing for a SaaS product deployed on AWS under GDPR data residency requirements.
SaaS backends
Multi-tenant architecture, role-based access, versioned APIs. Recently migrated a records system with two competing auth schemes (Sanctum and JWT) into a single clean service layer without breaking existing clients.
AI and automation
n8n workflows and AI integrations (OpenAI, Claude, Deepgram). Built an Apollo to Notion to HeyReach lead pipeline and rebuilt it to survive API rate limits, nested loops, and dropped auth.
Security and upgrades
JWT, OAuth2, encryption, rate limiting, caching. Laravel 5/6/7 migrations to current, done incrementally so you're never stuck on a broken branch.

I scope before I start, so you know what you're getting and what it costs. I document what I build. I tell you when your idea will cause problems later, which is usually the most valuable thing I do on a project.
