I'm a full-stack engineer, and I like to build close to the people the software is for. As Co-Founder and CTO of MyBusiness App, I take platforms from an idea to something real businesses run on every day: pet groomers, salons, lenders and service providers. The part I enjoy most isn't the architecture diagram. It's watching an owner take a booking on an app I shipped the week before.

The best work I do usually starts with a real person asking for something. Our groomers kept telling me their clients wanted to book over WhatsApp, so I looked at the numbers, saw they were right, and built WhatsApp into the product. It handles conversational booking, automated reminders and broadcasts that reliably reach the whole list, and it hands the conversation back to a human when one is needed. That's how I like to work. I listen, I build, and I own how it turns out.

At MyBusiness App I own the full stack, including the parts most people would rather avoid. I write the Next.js and TypeScript web apps and the white-label Flutter apps live on Google Play and the App Store, and I run the event-driven Go, Node.js and Python services on PostgreSQL and Citus, the payments that move our live revenue, and the Azure footprint I keep as code with Bicep. As we grew, I led the replatforming that lifted our ceiling from ten thousand tenants to millions, and it has since handled R6.9m+ in bookings for over 11,000 customers.

The thread running through my work now is AI and automation that holds up in production, not AI that only demos well. I've shipped two generations of in-product AI agents, and the first earned Microsoft's Azure AI Foundry certification. The current one is a multi-agent assistant that calls real tools over each tenant's own data, with a person approving anything that touches money. In a real business, trustworthy beats impressive, and that's the line I build to.

I don't stop at the code. I mentor the engineers on our team, and I run our growth too, the blog, the SEO and the analytics, because shipping is only half the job and adoption is the rest.

I'm South African, and that shapes why I build. The progress small businesses need here takes more than technology. It takes skills, access, and someone willing to do the unglamorous work. I'm remote-first and happy to be wherever the customer and the problem are.

I'm always glad to talk about building for real users, putting AI and automation to work in live operations, and technology that gives small businesses a fairer shot.
