Project details

Senior React/Next.js/TypeScript repair for one reproducible production issue. I operate HonestFit, a live production app.

I reproduce when possible, identify root cause, implement the smallest safe patch, add appropriate regression coverage, and run tests, typecheck, lint, and build checks. You receive a reviewable PR or patch with results, unverified areas, and residual risks.

I work in a separate branch or fork and do not merge or deploy. Production credentials are excluded. Your team controls review, merge, deployment, verification, and rollback.

Fits routing, rendering, forms, authentication, APIs, CI/test/build/deployment failures, dependency regressions, and bounded browser/performance bugs in React, Next.js, TypeScript, or Node.js.

Excluded: features, redesigns, broad rewrites, unrelated issues, native mobile, destructive migrations, security incident response, data recovery, direct deployment, or work that cannot be reproduced safely.

The 2-day target starts after complete requirements and qualified access. If evidence is insufficient or the fix exceeds scope, I stop and hand off findings. Larger work needs paid diagnosis or a custom Application Rescue quote.

About Ken

Ken D.Status: Offline
Senior Software Engineer | React, AI, SaaS & Data Engineering
Carson City, United States - 1:45 pm local time
I build and improve SaaS products, AI-powered applications, business platforms, and data-driven web applications across the full application stack.

With 15+ years of software engineering experience, my strongest technical foundation is React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture, backed by hands-on experience with Node.js, APIs, databases, data workflows, integrations, AI-powered features, deployment, and production systems.

What I bring to a project is more than the ability to implement individual tickets. I can understand the product and existing codebase, make architectural decisions, work across the appropriate layers, and take features from requirements → implementation → integration → production.

What I can help you build
React/TypeScript SaaS applications and product interfaces
Full-stack web applications and business platforms
AI-powered products and AI-assisted workflows
Data-driven applications, dashboards, and operational systems
Node.js backend services and REST APIs
API and third-party service integrations
Data models, PostgreSQL-backed applications, and data workflows
Reusable component libraries and design systems
Frontend architecture and application modernization
Existing product improvements and architectural refactoring
Production deployment, monitoring, and ongoing development

Product & AI Engineering
At HonestFit.ai, I founded and built a production AI-powered career platform and owned the product across the stack — including architecture, React frontend, backend services, data models, deployment, monitoring, and AI-assisted product workflows.

The platform includes conversational profile capture, job-fit analysis, targeted resume generation, application workflows, and public-safe profile capabilities.

This experience gave me direct exposure to the challenges that come with building a real AI product: combining AI-generated outputs with deterministic application logic, user review, structured workflows, and a production software system rather than treating AI as an isolated feature.

I also use AI-native development workflows with tools such as Cursor, Claude, and ChatGPT where they can improve development speed without sacrificing code quality, architecture, or product behavior.

Frontend Architecture & Design Systems
React and TypeScript are the foundation of my engineering experience.

At the City of Portland, I was the sole engineer responsible for a React component library and design-token platform. The work included reusable accessible components, automated token pipelines, Storybook documentation, versioning, publishing workflows, and developer tooling.
That experience goes beyond building individual UI components. It involved creating a reusable engineering foundation that other developers could build on consistently.
I have also built React applications for Clear Capital, including data-intensive real-estate valuation workflows with dashboards, filtering, review processes, and operational decision-support interfaces.
At ICF, I worked on public-facing applications using React/Gatsby with headless Drupal and GraphQL content workflows.

Full-Stack & Data Engineering
While React and frontend architecture are my strongest technical foundation, I regularly work beyond the browser.
I've built Node.js backend services, REST APIs, workflow automation, data models, integrations, and production application infrastructure, working with technologies including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, GraphQL, Next.js, Gatsby, and CI/CD workflows.
I’m particularly comfortable with applications where the frontend, backend, APIs, and data layer are tightly connected — dashboards, operational workflows, business applications, SaaS platforms, and other data-heavy systems.
Earlier in my career, I also built custom web applications, portals, e-commerce systems, WordPress applications, and PHP/MySQL solutions, giving me experience working with both modern and legacy codebases.
How I Work
I'm comfortable joining an existing product, understanding how it works, identifying technical problems, and determining what needs to change.
I don't assume every project needs the same architecture. I first understand the product requirements, existing system, constraints, and team, then work across the layers that actually matter:
Frontend → Backend → APIs → Data → Integrations → Deployment → Production
That makes me a good fit for projects where you need someone who can contribute deeply to React while also taking ownership of the surrounding engineering work.
If you need a senior software engineer who can build sophisticated React/TypeScript applications while also working across SaaS architecture, AI, backend services, APIs, data, integrations, and production systems, I can bring that end-to-end perspective to your project.

Steps for completing your project

After purchasing the project, send requirements so Ken can start the project.

Delivery time starts when Ken receives requirements from you.

Ken works on your project following the steps below.

Revisions may occur after the delivery date.

Qualify and confirm start gate

I review the issue, acceptance criteria, access method, and reproduction evidence, then confirm in writing that the fixed-price scope fits before substantive work.

Reproduce and diagnose

I preserve the baseline, reproduce the failure where possible, and trace the causal path from trigger to user-visible behavior.

Review the work, release payment, and leave feedback to Ken.
