If I had to sum up what Dan and his team delivers in a couple of words, they would be: PEACE OF MIND. And even then, those words do not even begin to describe Dan's tireless commitment to the quality of his customer experience. If you do not want to read the long and detailed review that I am sharing here, then all I can tell you is this: if you have a web development project, whether it is Wordpress or not, you need not look any further than Dan and his team. Save yourself the frustration, time and money and just go with Dan, because you will get a project that is done to YOUR SATISFACTION.
In this review, I want to share details of our customer experience, because Dan and his team stand out in ways that the average developer needs to seriously LEARN from.
To begin with some back story on how I chose Dan for this project: I originally found Dan on Upwork a year ago and hired him to develop two small Wordpress projects. He delivered them on time and the experience was professional and positive. Then we had a big project, which required complex custom website development. My business partner got a recommendation for a "Professional" development agency that was local, we met with them and agreed to work with them. I also take responsibility because I saw many problems early during the development, and didn't contact Dan sooner. So 8 months go by, and we get a website that is unusable. After having enough of their excuses, and extreme lack of professionalism, I reached out to Dan. And what you are about to read is what Dan and his team delivered.
Dan opened my eyes to the fact that there are MANY developers out there who simply get by, by taking advantage of those who don't know any better and who don't have the time and resources to get their money back. The agreement with the other firm was not on Upwork, so there was no recourse outside of having to take them to court which is too much of a hassle and not worth expense. Lesson 1: DO NOT hire a developer outisde of Upwork!
1. ORGANIZATION: From the minute Dan and his team began our complex project, it was organized. Dan mapped out all of the tasks, and separated them by function and priority on a private and secure collaboration platform. You always know exactly WHO is working on what task, how much progress they have made each day and you can monitor if they are on the right track or if there needs to be more clarity. This effort alone is worth every penny. We have experience working with an "amateur" developer agency that masquerades as a "professional" web development firm and I cannot find the words to describe the LACK of organization and transparency. Selecting the right developer is like shopping around for mechanics when you know nothing about cars. Dan and his team are TOP NOTCH, particularly in this area.
2. COMMUNICATION: Dan and his team are very in tune with keeping constant and open line of communication to make sure complex tasks are understood and completed as per the agreement. Again this goes back to organization, but I cannot tell you how frustrating it is when you keep sending corrections and directions to a developer who is completely on the wrong page, and then makes excuses about it (that was the other developer, NOT Dan). Dan made it VERY clear that the outcome of the project and customer satisfaction is more important than anything else. This type of communication is particularly important if the project requires more time or attention and Dan and his team are always available. Unless you have your developer's personal cell number, you will not do any better than the way Dan has setup and organized his communication process.
3. PROFESSIONALSIM, WORK ETHIC AND PRIDE: As I got to see Dan and his team in action, there were moments where they made me feel like they were my motivated employees. This is a team of TRUE professionals, who take PRIDE in their work, they are not part time amateurs who do this on the side. I know our project was one of many for Dan and his team, but not ONCE did I feel we were a lower priority. They get it done, and if you are not happy, they will work on it until you are. They do not give excuses, or assign tasks to you in order to buy themselves more time (a typical amateur tactic). This team is good at what they do, and their attention to detail is unmatched.
I ran out of space to include the rest of this review. To sum it up, Dan and his team are extremely resourceful problem solvers who proactively come up with ideas that you may not have even considered. And the best part is once our website went online, the team was there to provide any support to resolve any technical issues that came up.
Dan is COMMITTED to providing the BEST possible customer experience. This is seriously missing from the developers scene from our painful experience with a number of others.
