You have a task someone does by hand every week: copying rows between systems, pulling numbers off supplier pages, turning emails or PDFs into a spreadsheet, downloading reports from an API. That is exactly the work a small Python script does in minutes without typos, and exactly what I build.
You get a working script, not a proof of concept. It runs on your machine or a server, handles the obvious failure cases (a page that did not load, a row that did not match, an API that returned an error) instead of crashing on them, and comes with a plain-English README covering how to run it, what it needs, and what it does step by step.
I work with official APIs wherever one exists, because scripts built on official interfaces keep working. Where scraping is needed I stay inside the site's terms, and I will say upfront if a request is something a site prohibits, before you spend money on it. My own automation tooling is open source and in daily production use: browser automation, API integrations, and OAuth done properly, so you are hiring working code, not promises.

A broker with a good website looks exactly like a distributor with a good website. Both answer the phone, both send a catalogue. One of them holds inventory in a building with dock doors, and one of them is quietly forwarding your order to the company you should have called first, with their margin added.
I find the ones who actually hold the inventory, and I show you how I know.
That is one half of the work. The other half is the automation underneath it: when the data will not come out by hand, I write the thing that goes and gets it.
WHAT YOU GET
One spreadsheet, one row per company, with the columns you would actually use: company, website, what they carry, who to contact, minimums where they will state them, and a verdict with the reasoning attached. Not a scraped directory export. Every row has been looked at.
HOW I VERIFY
You will know who is a middleman before you contact them. Three signals give it away: a full catalogue downloadable without an account, sales material quoting marketplace listing IDs or sales rank back at you, and any version of "we work with online sellers" on the homepage.
You will know who physically holds stock. Every stated address gets checked in satellite view. A real distributor has a warehouse, loading bays, usually trucks in the frame. On a recent list, a company advertising a distribution centre resolved to a shared suite inside a multi tenant park rather than a dedicated facility, and I have used a building's own signage to confirm a company's claim about who owns it.
You will know who is actually independent. Corporate structure is the thing directories get wrong most often. On a recent list, four companies a client was treating as four separate suppliers turned out to be four brands of one parent company, which changes their negotiating position rather than just their spreadsheet.
ALSO WITHIN SCOPE
Manufacturer and OEM sourcing research, private-label and contract-manufacturing capability assessment, competitive and category landscape mapping, verified prospect and lead lists, structured data extraction from sites that block ordinary tools, and finished reporting. Deliverables come as a spreadsheet or a formatted PDF, whichever suits how you will use it.
AUTOMATION AND DATA ENGINEERING
I build the collection systems, not only the spreadsheets they fill.
Browser automation against real logged-in sessions, driving the Chrome DevTools Protocol directly rather than through a wrapper. That covers the sites ordinary scrapers fail on: custom widgets that ignore synthetic clicks, file upload dialogs, token inputs, and pages that quietly serve a different layout when they think nobody is watching. I have built and maintain around twenty five of these tools.
API integration end to end. Most recently an OAuth2 flow with PKCE and loopback consent against the Gmail API, published to production so refresh tokens do not expire, running across seven accounts with send, read, label and archive each verified live. Public data APIs as well: my portfolio holds a piece built on USAspending’s award API that pulled every prime contractor under one industry code and sorted them by whether they actually manufacture anything.
Pipelines that produce something usable at the end: defined-schema CSV and Excel, formatted PDF reporting, error handling, and documentation so it still runs when I am not watching it.
Python and Node.
One honest limit. I am not an n8n, Zapier or Make specialist. I build directly in code. If your workflow already lives inside one of those and you want it extended there, hire someone who works in it every day. If you have hit the wall where the no-code tool cannot do the thing, that is where I am worth talking to.
WHAT I WILL NOT DO
Pad the count. If your category only supports eleven real companies, you get eleven rows and a note on what is not out there. A list of forty where twenty nine are filler costs you more time than it saves, because you are the one who has to call them.
I also will not tell you a company will approve your account or agree to private-label for you. Those decisions belong to their credit department and their business development side, and anybody promising them beforehand is guessing.
SAMPLE
My portfolio has a finished piece of this work: eight US distributors carried to a verdict, six confirmed by satellite, one killed on the broker test, one flagged because its name invites a false assumption about who owns it.
