When Airtable isn't enough
This is an important part of how I work.
I don't force every business into Airtable just because that's the tool I use.
Before building, I look at:
How your team works → where information comes from → how data moves → what should be automated → what needs to scale.
For some businesses, Airtable + Make is the right long-term system.
For others, Airtable + Softr + n8n makes more sense.
And for a growing business, Airtable may be the right starting point before moving parts of the system to a custom application.
I've worked through that progression myself — including taking an Airtable-based business system toward React when the client's requirements grew.
Recent Work
1. BuildWise — Construction Operations Platform
A construction company with 50+ employees was managing years of operational information across Google Sheets. Instead of simply importing those spreadsheets into Airtable, I redesigned the underlying workflow and built a centralized operations platform using Airtable, Softr and Make.
As the business grew, parts of the system were later moved toward React/custom development rather than forcing everything to remain inside Airtable. The platform now supports a business generating $1M+ in annual revenue and saves $10000 every year because of tech stack I suggest client.
This project is a good example of how I approach Airtable:
Start with the business process → design the right data structure → automate the repetitive work → build the user experience → evolve the architecture when the business outgrows it.
2. Live Fashion Limited
I helped migrate an existing Google Sheets-based workflow into Airtable to centralize business information and prepare the company for investor presentations. Before development, I reviewed the existing workflow, redesigned the database structure, and recommended the technology approach based on the company's longer-term requirements.
The result was a centralized Airtable system that simplified operations while avoiding unnecessary software costs.
