Project details

If your numbers live in several places and none of them agree, this tells you exactly where and why before you spend money fixing it.

I open your actual files. I profile every column, count what is missing, find the duplicates, and check the places two sources are supposed to match. Then I write down what is broken and what it would cost to repair. You get a document you can act on or take elsewhere.

What you get back

• Row counts, column profiling, and null rates for every file
• Duplicates, with the matching rule written down rather than assumed
• Cross source reconciliation showing where two files disagree and by how much
• Structural breakage separated from ordinary inconsistency, since they cost very different amounts to fix
• A fixed price quote for the repair, good for 30 days

What this is not. I do not fix the data in Tier 1 or Tier 2, I tell you what fixing it involves. Tier 3 includes the reconciliation script and the cleaned output.

If you hire me for the repair afterward, the audit fee comes off the repair price.

About Jack

Power BI & SQL Reporting | Data Cleanup, Pipelines, Excel Automation

Most teams do not have a reporting problem, they have a trust problem. The number is different depending on who pulls it, so everybody rebuilds their own version in a spreadsheet and nobody quite believes any of them.

I fix the layer underneath the report, then build the report on top of it so it refreshes on a schedule instead of on a person.

What I do most often

• Rebuild operational reports in Power BI or as a generated Excel workbook, pulling from SQL Server, PostgreSQL, an ERP export or an API
• Clean and reconcile messy exports, in Python and pandas or in Excel with Power Query, and hand back the script rather than just the cleaned file
• Design the schema and the data model underneath, so the reporting layer has something stable to sit on
• Scheduled refresh jobs with freshness and staleness checks, so a quiet feed raises an alert instead of becoming a wrong number
• Integrations and exports across Salesforce, HubSpot, Airtable and Google Sheets

My background is economics and computer science, a SQL Server data model for a freight division that fifty stakeholders reported off, reconciliation and reporting work in private wealth at UBS, and building a full data stack as sole engineer for an analytics company. Fifteen external data sources, a 232 table PostgreSQL schema, and scheduled jobs that keep it current.

If you are not sure what shape your problem is, start with a fixed price Data Health Audit. I open your actual files, profile every column, list what is broken and what it will cost to fix, and give you a written quote you can take anywhere. No obligation past the audit.
