Project details

Core Value: Hand Google Drive assets to Cloud Tasks; a FastAPI service fetches the file, applies metadata, and calls the YouTube API with zero manual steps. Task states persist in Firestore for real-time progress tracking.
Dual Upload Strategies: The default “streaming + prefetch” path keeps files larger than 2GB flowing directly from Drive to YouTube. For extreme network conditions, switch to the “local buffering” fallback, which stages files in /tmp before uploading to guarantee completion.
Customizable Metadata: External clients pass in title, description, categoryId, etc. Once deployed on Cloud Run, everything is managed via HTTPS endpoints with consistent authentication.
Elastic Architecture: Cloud Run hosts FastAPI and Cloud Tasks fires the jobs; TASK_HANDLER_TOKEN secures internal hooks. Deployment is a single gcloud run deploy with all env vars, following GCP best practices.
Developer Experience: Dependencies are managed by uv, and uv run uvicorn main:app --reload provides instant hot reloads for debugging. The README includes full curl examples so PMs, QA, or third parties can test with minimal setup.
