Before going independent, I spent a decade in operations leadership - running logistics networks, launching facilities, managing large teams and budgets, and fixing broken processes at scale. That background is why my AI builds hold up in production instead of falling apart the first week.
At Amazon, I ran the entire Flex gig delivery operation for Japan - 4,000 drivers, 280,000 packages per day, 143 delivery stations. I controlled pricing and surge algorithms for the national network. I managed a $20MM marketing budget with a team of 20. Before Japan, I launched 49 fulfillment center conversions across the US, personally leading 20 of those launches and serving as the designated technical SME. I built 6 micro-fulfillment centers from scratch in Boston, Las Vegas, and Houston. I was on the Process Engineering team - the people Amazon sends to broken fulfillment centers to figure out what went wrong and fix it.
I also redesigned a 109-item technical configuration process to work at scale (a first for the company), designed the end-to-end returns process for the national Prime Wardrobe launch, and managed cross-border operations across Japan and Singapore simultaneously.
Now I build AI systems. My company, Lonely Pine AI, specializes in voice agents that handle phone calls - inbound ordering, lead capture, receptionist services, speed-to-lead automation - and the backend workflow systems that connect them to CRMs, POS systems, and notification channels. My stack is Vapi, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, GPT-4o, Cloudflare Workers (TypeScript), and n8n for orchestration.
I work with clients in hospitality, restaurants, home services, and painting contractors. The common thread is the same one that ran through my corporate career: taking messy, manual, high-volume operations and turning them into something that runs reliably without constant human intervention.
What makes me different from most AI consultants is that I've actually operated at scale. I know what happens when a system breaks at 280,000 packages a day. I know what it takes to launch a facility in a new city with a hard deadline. I've managed P&Ls, built teams, run marketing campaigns, and debugged pricing algorithms. When I build an AI system or redesign a process, it's informed by a decade of seeing what survives contact with reality and what doesn't.
Originally from Hawaii, I'm based between Tokyo, JP and Maui, Hi. I work across US and Asia-Pacific time zones daily. I'm looking for contract engagements - not small gigs - where I can bring operational rigor and AI implementation skills to companies that need both.
