You will get I will build a Grafana dashboard with TimescaleDB or PostgreSQL queries

Project details
I build Grafana dashboards on PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB every week — for a US SaaS monitoring industrial equipment across multiple client environments. This isn't a side experiment; it's my daily work.
What you get that you won't get from a generic dashboard freelancer:
• Real SQL tuning — I read execution plans, add indexes where they help, and use CTEs, window functions, and TimescaleDB continuous aggregates to keep queries fast as your data grows
• Multi-tenant ready — variables and filters designed properly from the start, not bolted on later
• Time-series expertise — TimescaleDB hypertables, JSONB columns, and timezone-correct windowing daily
• Clean handover — provisioning JSON for version control, a README, and a Loom walkthrough so your team can extend it without me
I deliver async with Loom videos, write clear English documentation, and keep changes small and reviewable. Available evenings UTC-5 (Colombia) and weekends.
8+ years across backend, data engineering, and DevOps. Currently Operations Enablement Engineer at a US SaaS.
Let's start with a 15-minute call to scope your dashboard.

About Gabriel Jaime
Senior Backend & Data Engineer | Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, GCP
Andes, Colombia - 2:04 pm local time
Currently I run operations enablement at a SaaS startup serving US oil & gas operators — owning the stack end to end: FastAPI services, multi-tenant Postgres/TimescaleDB schemas, Dagster pipelines, Grafana dashboards, Docker, and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
What I deliver best:
• REST APIs in Python (FastAPI / Flask) with proper auth, validation, observability, and tests
• PostgreSQL & TimescaleDB schemas, query tuning, and time-series data models for analytics
• Data pipelines (Dagster, scheduled ingestion, ETL/ELT) with backfills and quality checks
• Grafana dashboards backed by complex SQL — including multi-tenant filtering and JSONB
• Internal automations and CI/CD on GitHub Actions, Docker, and self-hosted runners
• GCP work (BigQuery, Looker, IAM) from prior role at Falabella
I write English documentation and PRs daily, communicate clearly across time zones, and take ownership of problems from data model to dashboard. Background spans both software (Universidad de Antioquia) and petroleum engineering (Universidad Nacional) — useful when domain context matters.
Available evenings (UTC-5) and weekends. Based in Medellín, Colombia.
Looking for short-to-medium engagements: API development, data pipeline work, dashboard/SQL projects, or DevOps automation. Happy to start with a small paid trial task to confirm fit.
Steps for completing your project
After purchasing the project, send requirements so Gabriel Jaime can start the project.
Delivery time starts when Gabriel Jaime receives requirements from you.
Gabriel Jaime works on your project following the steps below.
Revisions may occur after the delivery date.
Kickoff & data exploration
I connect to your database, explore the schema, and confirm the metrics that matter. We align on dashboard goals, audience, and the 6 panels we'll build before I write any SQL.
SQL query development & tuning
I write each query, check execution plans, add indexes if needed, and validate results against your raw data. Queries are designed to stay fast as data grows.
