The quote to complete the entire project was $7400 - $8400 USD. We spent $26,610 USD for a project missing the CORE feature. We did add some scope to the original project later on, but minimal changes that do not explain the cost exploding by more than 3x (and again missing the CORE feature). The quote also stated a timeline of 9 - 10 weeks (excluding testing and edits extra 1 -2 weeks), it took 156 weeks to get to where we are. To be fair there was a third-party vendor that did cause delays, but again, no where a 15x increase in timeline.
There was also the misrepresentation of the location. This profile (Gurjit) shows it is located in New Westminster, Canada but the company Eminence Technology who completed the work is located in Ajitgarh, India We were made aware of this fact early on into the discussion, but it is still a misrepresentation as Gurkit is the account that bid on the project on upwork.
Regarding the CORE feature of our project not been completed, we were told the developer that knew this component left the company, and we were asked to source a replacement ourselves...
