I really love to give positive feedbacks, but it is just not possible here. Also, given the freelancer has suddenly ended the contract out of the blue, once I have escelated it to Upworks, I have not other option to give the feedback on time.
I have waited for the very last day to give a positive feedback, but we are more than 2 months behind the agreed delivery and the page is still not ready to be launched as of today!
Agreed timeline was 30 days in the beginning of February. The job was relatively simple. Take an existing page from the competitor, slim it down, make the UI and experience slightly nicer, add our product to it and launch it. We have shared our vision and how we would like to have it and mentioned to copy the other shopify elements.
The only thing that unfortunately happened, was that the money was fully billed within the 30 days (once we disputed, we were begged not to do it and promised everything would be delivered on time, second time we wanted to dispute, we were begged not to do it, as the money would be rewired back; obviously none of that has happened), while only 40% of the work was done. Until today, we provide constant feedback, mostly over the same mistakes, again and again. We provide screen shots, descriptions, etc.
We have not even touched all the areas the freelancer promised in the beginning (SEO, Training, Error Free, Mobile Friendliness, etc.). The page had tons of errors and while we had a full blueprint that could have been easily looked and copied, no effort was given into that. Ultimately, we had to ask for the backend login and start to develop certain aspects ourselves with tons of Youtube videos and guidance from Shopify.
We have postponed the launch of our homepage now multiple times (initial launch was planned for last week of March), this costs us lots of money and trust. Still today, the page is not launched. We still have lots of errors and do not really know how to do what. Let alone all the other aspects of SEO, etc.
Very frustating and costly experience. When it came to booking the full amount of the given range, the freelances was worldclass. When it came to promise, the freelancer was worldclass, when it came to delivery, everything seemed to take ages and ages and after more than two months, after promised delivery date, we can still not launch our page.
