As a DevOps Engineer I work on reducing the running costs of scaling systems while improving performance!
I run production Kubernetes on AWS EKS. I also work across Azure and GCP. 𝗠𝘆 𝗽𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in under five minutes with no static cloud keys anywhere in CI, because they authenticate through OIDC instead.
𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽: deployments work, but they're held together with tape. Release steps run by hand, AWS keys sitting in CI where they shouldn't be, no alerting when something breaks, one database that takes the whole platform down with it. I clean that up and hand back something your team can run without me.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗱𝗼:
1- 𝗞𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗪𝗦 𝗘𝗞𝗦, including ingress-nginx, cert-manager, external-secrets, autoscaling, and rolling deploys with no downtime
2- 𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗽𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 that swap repo identity for short-lived AWS credentials through OIDC, so no long-lived keys live in CI
3- 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 for changes you can review and repeat, with encrypted state
4- 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: right-sizing, scale-to-zero build nodes, and monitoring through Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and Fluent Bit
5- 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: private networking, least-privilege IAM, KMS encryption, SOC 2 and HIPAA-aligned hardening
𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀:
- 𝗖𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝟲𝟮%, around $2,000 a month, on a live video platform while holding 99.9% uptime
- 𝗥𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝟭𝟬-𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗘𝗞𝗦 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿: 238 pods across 35 namespaces, upgraded in place 10 times with no data loss
- Pulled every static AWS key out of CI across several platforms using OIDC
- 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 from public-by-default Cloud Run into a private, least-privilege GCP setup with SOC 2 readiness and 𝗛𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗔-𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 controls
- Shipped multi-tenant streaming and 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, each with its own environment separation through Kustomize
