You don't need to provide me the background of tables design and business logic, my focus would only be technical part in most of the cases rather than understanding business logic, however, in rare scenario, it might be case as well, by the way, I'll use following tools:
Windows Performance Monitor, SQL Server Activity Reports, SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, Index & Statistics Maintenances, Query Store, Executions Plans (Live, Actual, Estimated), in addition, I have pre-written a lot of helpful queries in order to diagnose / troubleshoot the root cause of problem which causing issue in terms of slow speed and make the whole server unresponsive, by the way, I'm working with SQL Server since 2010 with (SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019)
