I focus on building APIs and backend systems that businesses actually rely on, not demo projects that fall apart under real traffic. Go and Node.js are what I reach for most often, especially for performance-focused APIs and faster builds. But I pick the stack based on what the project actually needs.
A big part of what I do is Stripe integration: subscriptions, checkout flows, webhook handling, making sure payments actually go through cleanly instead of silently failing somewhere in the background. Payment bugs are some of the most frustrating issues a business can face because they cost real money when they go wrong. I test that part properly before handing anything over.
I trained through Semicolon Africa, a rigorous backend-focused program here in Nigeria. Since then I've built across a range of projects and stacks. One example is MedChain, a patient records system I designed for hospitals dealing with disorganized paper records. It handles offline access, document summarization, and QR-based patient IDs. Working on that forced me to think about system design under real constraints like unreliable internet, not clean tutorial conditions.
On the database side I work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB depending on the project. I'm comfortable designing schemas from scratch or untangling ones that have gotten messy over time. I also take on WordPress and WooCommerce work when that's genuinely the right tool for the job. Not every business needs a custom-built backend.
