About Usman

Usman A.Status: Offline
Senior Full Stack Developer | Node.js, Next.js, React | SaaS & AI Apps
5.0  (2 reviews)
Lahore, Pakistan - 12:45 am local time
I'm a senior full stack developer and tech lead. For the past 9 years I've built and owned SaaS platforms, APIs and AI-powered applications — products that have to keep working after launch, under real users and real load.

Clients usually come to me in one of three situations: an idea and no codebase, an MVP that's straining and needs to become a real product, or a team that's shipping code with nobody making the architecture calls. I handle all three.

In practice that means I take a requirement in business language, decide what to build and in what order, design the data model and the API contracts, build it, deploy it, and stay accountable for it in production. Where there are other developers involved, I review their work and set the standards they work to. That's the part clients tell me was missing.

WHERE I'M STRONGEST

Backend and architecture — Node.js, NestJS, Express and Laravel, with PostgreSQL, MySQL and Supabase behind them. This is where products quietly succeed or fail: the data model, the auth boundaries, the API contracts, and the query patterns that still hold up when a table has a million rows instead of a thousand.

Frontend — Next.js, React, Vue and TypeScript with Tailwind. Dashboards, admin panels and customer-facing apps. Server-rendered where it matters for speed, client-side where it matters for feel.

AI-powered features — integrating OpenAI and Claude into applications that already have users. The hard parts are rarely the prompts; they're streaming, cost control, rate limits, and deciding what your product does when the model returns nothing useful.

Supabase — schema design, Row Level Security policies, authentication, and the integration work around them. RLS is where most Supabase projects have a hole in them, and I know where to look.

Infrastructure — Linux, Docker, VPS and cloud deployment, PM2, Nginx and CI/CD, plus the monitoring that tells you something broke before your customers do.

Security — I spent six months working hands-on in cybersecurity and it changed how I build. Authentication and authorization, API security, database access control and production hardening are defaults in my work, not things bolted on after a pentest.

WHAT I'M USUALLY HIRED FOR

- Building a SaaS product from an empty repository through to paying customers
- Taking an MVP that works in a demo and making it survive real usage
- Designing and building APIs, and integrating third-party and payment services
- Adding AI features to an existing product without destabilizing it
- Fixing a Next.js or React application that's slow, fragile or hard to change
- Supabase architecture: schema, Row Level Security, auth and integrations
- Deployment, DevOps and performance work on systems already in production
- Leading a small development team, or being the senior engineer a team doesn't have

HOW I WORK

I ask about the business before the stack. A fair amount of the job is telling a client that what they asked for isn't what solves their problem, then proposing what does — and I'd rather have that conversation in week one than in month three.

I pick proven technology unless there's a real reason not to, write code the next developer can read, and tell you early when something is going to take longer than we thought.

I work directly with founders and product owners rather than through a layer of project management, and I'm comfortable being the only technical person in the room.

STACK

Frontend: Next.js, React, Vue, TypeScript, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS
Backend: Node.js, NestJS, Express, Laravel, PHP, Python, REST APIs
Data: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Supabase, database design, Row Level Security
AI: OpenAI and Claude integration, LLM-powered features, AI agents, automation workflows
Infrastructure: Linux, Docker, VPS, PM2, Nginx, CI/CD, monitoring

Send me a short description of what you're building and where you're stuck. I'll tell you how I'd approach it, what I'd build first, and what it realistically takes — before you commit to anything.
