As an Upwork client with over 13 years of experience, hiring numerous/hundreds of very nice folks from all over the world for various projects, I understand the dynamics of freelance work and the importance of mutual respect and professionalism in this space. This is the first instance where I find myself compelled to write a detailed negative review. My objective is to provide a comprehensive account of my experience with Ammar, which I believe is necessary for the Upwork community.
Initial Agreement and Subsequent Issues:
The project I hired Ammar for was a ādata scrapingā task, which we initially agreed upon at a rate he quoted. The agreement was clear, and there were no issues at the outset. However, as the project progressed, Ammar completed only about 20% of the work and then requested an increase in his rate. In an effort to keep the project on track and considering the progress he had made, I agreed to this increase, effectively doubling his initial fee. I believed this would motivate him to complete the project as per our revised agreement. Unfortunately, Ammar chose to terminate the contract even after this adjustment, which not only caused a delay in my project but also added to the overall cost, as Iām now having to take the time to find another freelancer to restart the task.
Professionalism and Reliability Concerns:
The manner in which Ammar handled this situation raises serious concerns about his professionalism and reliability. While I acknowledge that freelancers, like all professionals, may face unforeseen circumstances or reassess their workloads, the way Ammar abruptly exited the project, particularly after I offered to double the fee, was both unprofessional and disruptive.
