He is very responsive, and his extensive training and knowledge of this material gets him on the job quickly. He knows where to get the information he needs and quickly applies it to the job at hand. I like the fact that he is also investing in other developers that are just getting started. I've already got another job for him to start, and I hope that he will be the team leader.
