Project details
Most HVAC websites don’t fail because of effort—they fail because of structure.
If your site isn’t generating consistent calls from Google, it’s usually missing the fundamentals that actually drive rankings and leads. Things like properly built service pages, location targeting, internal linking, and technical SEO all play a huge role—and most HVAC sites get this wrong.
I specialize in turning HVAC websites into lead generation systems.
That means:
• Targeting high-intent searches like “AC repair near me”
• Building service + location page structures that rank
• Fixing technical SEO issues holding your site back
• Optimizing for both Google AND AI-driven search
This isn’t generic SEO. It’s a strategy designed specifically for HVAC companies that rely on local visibility and inbound calls.
If you’re serious about ranking higher and getting more jobs from your website, this is where it starts.

About Greg
Certified Technical SEO Expert - Focus On Google Search & AI Answers

I may be new to Upwork, but I’ve been working with websites and search rankings since early 2004. Most of that time wasn’t spent inside an agency or marketing department. It was spent running my own businesses where search traffic directly affected whether the business succeeded or struggled.
So SEO was never theoretical for me. It was survival.
For more than 20 years I’ve had to figure out how to get websites found, how to recover when rankings drop, and how to adapt when Google decides to change the rules again. If you’ve owned a website for any length of time, you probably know exactly what I mean.
Because of that background, my approach tends to be very practical. I’m not big on generic SEO checklists or long reports that don’t actually change anything. I focus on understanding what is happening with a site and identifying the specific opportunities that can move the needle.
Most of the work I help with revolves around things like:
• understanding where a website is currently getting its traffic
• identifying missed keyword and topic opportunities
• analyzing competitors to see where gaps exist
• improving content structure so search engines clearly understand the topic
• strengthening signals that help pages get indexed and ranked
A lot of times the biggest wins come from smaller opportunities that competitors overlook. Individually those search terms may not look impressive, but when you combine dozens or hundreds of them they can produce steady traffic that converts far better than broad, competitive keywords.
Over the years I’ve worked through just about every major shift Google has thrown at website owners. Algorithm updates, changes in ranking signals, technical issues that affect crawling and indexing, and now the rapid shift toward AI-driven search like ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews.
Search is evolving quickly, and many websites that used to rank well are now struggling to appear in these newer systems. A big part of what I focus on now is helping sites structure their content in ways that both traditional search engines and AI systems can interpret clearly.
A large portion of the sites I work with are built on WordPress, so I’m also very comfortable working directly inside WordPress environments to improve site structure, page organization, internal linking, and overall search visibility.
I also spend a lot of time building and experimenting with small internal proprietary tools that help analyze websites more deeply. Some of these tools focus on things like site structure analysis, identifying content gaps, and measuring how visible a site may be across emerging AI search platforms. I have essentially built small apps and plugins that fill in the gaps that I experience with some of the bigger solutions that are on the market.
Other tools and areas I regularly work with include:
• Google Search Console for search performance and indexing insights
• Google Analytics for traffic patterns and user behavior
• Ahrefs and other research tools for keyword and competitor analysis
• keyword opportunity discovery and search intent analysis
• content structure and topical authority development
• technical signals that influence crawling and indexing
• AI search visibility and generative search optimization
If you're looking for someone to run a quick audit, review search data, or help identify growth opportunities for a site, I’m always happy to take a look.
I also don’t mind doing a quick initial look at a domain before a project even starts. Sometimes it only takes a few minutes to spot something that’s holding a site back, and that can help both of us decide whether it makes sense to move forward.
I’m not planning to take on a large number of projects here. Usually two or three at a time is about my limit. I prefer to keep things small enough that I can actually focus on helping the businesses I work with instead of juggling dozens of accounts.
And honestly, if you just have a quick SEO question, feel free to reach out. I’ve spent a long time learning this space the hard way, and I genuinely enjoy helping other business owners make sense of it.
