Nutrition Consultant for Performance Optimization

I hired Valentina for a performance-focused nutrition plan tailored to my structured cycling training (8–15 hrs/week, power-based programming). Before starting, she stated that macros would be calculated according to my training schedule and goals, and that the plan would be aligned with workload, recovery demands, and carb periodization.
I provided detailed information: training schedule, ride timing, body weight history, goals (performance + gradual weight loss), and even specific metrics like TSS and intensity factor. My expectation, based on her own description of the service in messages to me, was a structured, training-aligned plan with daily macro targets and clear carb modulation based on workload.
The first version I received was extremely generic. It consisted of a single “sample day” template with broad substitution lists and general sports nutrition guidelines (hydration, gels, micronutrients, etc.). There were no daily macro breakdowns aligned to my training schedule, no carb periodization across hard vs. easy days, and nothing meaningfully connected to the detailed training information I had shared. It felt like a standardized document rather than a plan built around me.
When I raised the concern and referenced her earlier promises, she quickly revised it and added macro targets per day. I appreciate that she responded and ultimately delivered a more structured version. However, it required what I thought to be unnecessary push back to receive what I believed had already been agreed upon.
My overall impression was that the initial delivery did not match the expectations set during communication before agreeing to our contract. The communication was polite and professional throughout, but the first plan felt low-effort relative to the price and positioning of the service.
If you’re looking for general healthy eating structure and broad sports nutrition guidance, this may work for you. If you’re an experienced, data-driven endurance athlete expecting detailed performance nutrition periodization from the start, you may want to clarify deliverables very explicitly in advance.
