My journey began right after high school when I took learning into my own hands—starting with HTML & CSS on my phone, without even owning a laptop. Through perseverance, I secured a spot in a highly selective front-end web development bootcamp sponsored by GIZ, a German government organization. They provided me with a ThinkPad x230, and from there, I deepened my knowledge in JavaScript, React, and Redux.
Professional Experience:
- At 19, I landed my first job as a Frontend Engineer at Getir, one of Turkey’s biggest international startups, after just five months of learning web development and one month of job searching.
- After one year, I transitioned to a Backend Engineer role within Getir, broadening my expertise.
- I then gained freelancing experience and later worked as a Software Engineer at AppNation, bringing my total professional experience to three years in my early 20s.
While working full-time, I also pursued higher education, earning an Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming and further refining my English skills to near-native fluency.
Currently, I’m expanding my backend expertise, exploring Go, Java, Ruby on Rails, and Next.js. Additionally, I’m contributing to open-source by translating “Eloquent JavaScript” into Turkish to make it more accessible to the local developer community.
Looking ahead, I’m eager to collaborate with companies that offer opportunities to specialize in full-stack development with a backend focus.
