About Nada

Thanks to my working experience, I am an expert in translating texts from French to English. It is challenging and pleasurable since none of these two languages is my native. My native is Arabic, so I can help to edit some texts.
Since 2013, I have been teaching business English to engineering students. It is an enriching experience because I could network and gain a translation and editing experience (written and spoken) in parallel.
Actually, when my students want to apply for an abroad job or pursue their education, I help them edit and translate their CVs, motivation letters, and projects, and thankfully they were accepted. I had also the opportunity to correct their graduation projects if they are written in English. It was inspiring for me because I could discover important engineering content.
It is noteworthy that I assisted my colleagues as well in their research papers. To state just a few of the main themes that I dealt with: finance, mathematics, and computer engineering. The latter is my pride because the article is published in the famous magazine Science Direct.
Besides, I worked on many important documents at the university. I translated two editions of the activity report which record our achievements in a predetermined period. The new edition is being designed.
These days, I translated our website and my text isn’t inserted yet. Therefore, we wait for the developer 😉
A turning point in my career is translating the self-assessment report. The document was produced in French because the head of departments are francophones. I had the opportunity to translate it into English because auditors didn’t master French. And when they came to the onsite audit, they offered me the chance to facilitate moderate, and translate the sessions even those conducted with externals (normally this is not allowed because I’m a member of the university they are evaluating).
Truly, this is a good context to start talking about the remaining part of my spoken experience. First, I participated in the inauguration ceremony of the university I work for. It was a golden opportunity because it facilitated my recruitment afterward. Second, when I invited the UK ambassador to honor the signature of a memorandum of understanding I had also to translate her speech to my colleagues and students who are francophones.
