Virtual Assistant: Guest Messaging, Inventory & Operations for Vacation Rental & Real Estate Company
Zoha is kind, polite, and easy to communicate with, and I sincerely wish her the best going forward. The position she was hired for was clearly defined and required a high level of independence, initiative, and accountability across multiple areas of our operation, including guest messaging, vendor coordination, inventory management, and marketing support for several active vacation rentals.
While she assisted with some guest communication, the role was not intended to be limited to that function or require constant direction. The expectation was that she would take ownership of daily operations, follow our established SOPs, and proactively manage tasks without needing to be told each individual step. In practice, that level of independence and follow-through did not materialize. Even within guest messaging, which she handled only part of the time, I still found myself responding to the majority of messages personally.
The scope also included managing turnovers and cleaner coordination through Breezeway, tracking and ordering restocks, verifying property readiness, following up with midterm housing leads, and maintaining marketing consistency across platforms. These areas were largely left unaddressed or incomplete.
To be fair, I acknowledge that I was managing several large projects and transitions in my business at the same time and could have provided clearer structure or more onboarding support. The challenge was not intent but execution and capability for the level of autonomy this role required.
Zoha is professional and well-intentioned, and I believe she can thrive in a position with more direct oversight and a narrower scope. However, this particular role required someone able to manage multiple systems and priorities independently, which ultimately proved to be a mismatch.

Zoha is genuinely lovely to work with, kind, positive, and eager to help wherever she can. The scope and caliber of what I needed required more independent execution and higher-level optimization than what ultimately came through. She made a consistent effort, and I appreciate that, but the overall depth and initiative fell a bit short of what I was hoping for given her strong track record. I also take accountability, as I had multiple priorities and could have provided clearer structure and direction, she needed more from me. I believe with more dedicated time and alignment on expectations, Zoha can deliver excellent results on the right projects.
