Technical Document Writer for Long-term Contract Work Muzaffar demonstrated that he has skills, and some of his writing was good. Unfortunately he was very inconsistent in all his work. He showcased a low level of diligence where he was not able to do the work according to instructions. His draft docs that he was writing were littered with spelling errors. He did not use the status system in our project management system ClickUp and had to be reminded multiple times to change ticket status. He was constantly making mistakes at every step of the process. He did not read instructions accurately and would come back after being given diagrams and written steps and he would ask questions that showed he did not understand even half of the instructions. On the first day of the contract he wrote me a very strange message where he complained about the struggles he was facing in understanding the software he was documenting. Even though the sofware had existing docs with install instructions, he asked what does this software do. The message was filled with grammar and spelling errors. At that point I realized this person unfortunately is not good at reading and understanding concepts, and has a low level of the diligence character trait. When he received messages through our project management system, he would not confirm receipt of the messages. Instead he would wait until somebody asked him again if he got the message. When I told him it would be preferably if he could confirm messages like everybody else on our team, he wrote back saying he would do this from now on becasue it was important to me. For some reason doing work professionally is not important to him, it's only important to us and he'll only do it if he is specifically instructed to act professionally. It's an amazing thing to see this type of attitude, but that is consistent with the low diligence demonstrated throughout the work.
