Superstar Virtual Assistant Needed
I hired this freelancer last year for a small amount of work, but after that, there was no communication with me or my team. Months later, I discovered she had continued billing me weekly for significant hours, even though no one on my team had assigned her work, spoken with her, or received any deliverables.
When I brought it up, her response was basically that she thought I was paying for her time. As a freelancer, that is not how this works. You need to check in, confirm assignments, complete work, and provide updates.
I have used Upwork for years and have worked with many great freelancers, but this was an unacceptable experience. Thousands of dollars were billed with no clear work performed. I tried to resolve it professionally, but we were not able to get to a reasonable understanding.
I would strongly caution anyone considering working with this freelancer to monitor hours and deliverables very closely.
