My name is Allison Martin. I’ve been a Registered Nurse for almost 20 years. As a nurse in practice, I am the conduit between patients, their families, providers, and the healthcare system. I have always been in a position of patient advocacy, and it is one of the most valued aspects of my career. As the world changes, healthcare has also shifted. In my practice, I have found myself continually restrained by time, tasks, and organizational infrastructure. The goals of care I set for myself and for my patients were strained. In order to fulfill my goals, and provide deserving care to my patients, I began to look outside the healthcare system. I found that I could make a difference by using my experience, knowledge, and compassion to directly advocate for my patients in a primary role.
