Hitrental - Panos Revenue Set Up for Revenue Management Panos clearly knows revenue management. His weekly reports were structured and data-driven, he implemented real changes across Booking.com, Airbnb and our pricing tool, and communication was friendly throughout.
That said, at $50 an hour and 20 hours a week — around $3,200 per month for a single location with 35 apartments — we expected more ownership of outcomes. The agreed Monday performance report had to be chased twice; at 20 hours a week, delivering it reliably shouldn't be hard. Strategy-wise, a lot of it came down to the simplest levers in revenue management: dropping prices to the minimum and loosening length-of-stay restrictions. That fills nights, but it drove volume at the floor rate rather than protecting rate quality, and we missed forward-looking demand analysis. The two of us always made time for the scheduled calls; twice he joined from his car or his balcony without a laptop at hand, which didn't match the professionalism of his written work.
To be fair, he was dealing with a weak Basel summer market. A nice, knowledgeable analyst — but at this budget we expected someone who treats the portfolio like their own.
