I’m Charles, a British journalist, broadcaster, voice-over artist and media trainer.
I offer three distinct services here; writing, voice-overs and presentation & media training.
If it’s top-level, journalistic experience you’re after, I’m someone who spent years writing attention-grabbing, compulsive and unmissable copy.
I’ve been an editor-in-chief for national newspapers and websites in the UK and the USA, writing daily news and features pieces, specialist blogs, newspaper leaders and headlines. Plus regular columns and even a book on Rats.
The articles I write are compelling, engaging, exciting or entertaining, depending on your requests. They can be, funny, opinionated or straight down the line. My subjects include; News and Feature stories, Politics, Family Issues, Fatherhood, Commercial Property, Personal Finance, Business, Health, Lifestyle, Religion. Special Needs, Technology, Cars, Society, Property, and short, biographical pieces.
I have been a columnist on TV, radio and in print so I am comfortable with writing pieces which are opinionated and argumentative if required and reactive pieces offering alternative views.
I’m an experienced Voiceover artist too, having worked both sides of the mic and camera as a national UK TV & radio host and producer. Having successfully relaunched and run London’s most entertaining news and phoning station as director of programmes, and having been a producer and presenter, I am more than happy and able be your voice-over artist, offering a range of different voice-overs. Over the last 20 years I have also been a presentation and media trainer alongside my other work. Check out my projects here, for more details. Since the advent of the coronavirus, I’ve been asked to offer half day and full day courses via Zoom rather than in the studio, which have proved very successful.
I have trained people from famous actors, athletes and celebrities, to politicians and beyond. More than half of my clients are repeat requests, from businessmen and women, or people who simply freeze when asked to speak in public. I am if I say so myself a great public speaking coach.
Thanks to Upwork, I now offer special, mini-courses on using zoom itself - and believe me, it’s not just a question of just switching on your phone or laptop and hoping that you look and sound okay. I teach people what to do what not to do and how to do it, giving them confidence.
