I initially hired Razia as a bookkeeper, and at first, things seemed to be going well. She presented herself professionally, and after a few months, my financial records appeared to be categorized correctly.
However, when it came time to finalize my books for my CPA, I encountered serious issues. Despite confirming with her that the books would be completed by a certain deadline, she missed it—twice. On the second occasion, while we were reviewing the books, she unexpectedly asked for a raise, which was surprising given the missed deadlines.
Unfortunately, when I finally met with my CPA, we discovered multiple errors. Many transactions were miscategorized, and the numbers didn’t align properly. Due to the complexity of my books, I had to hire someone else and pay an additional $500 to clean up the mistakes.
While Razia started off strong, her lack of reliability and accuracy in bookkeeping ultimately cost me time and money. I would advise others to ensure they thoroughly review their books and confirm deadlines if considering her services.
