Writers- Short Stories - Dystopian Fiction
I am not sure what happened here. The freelancer ended the contract with no reason. At least they did not give one. The milestone was already funded. And they blocked me. They went into the sunset with the money.
Edit: I am editing this feedback to explain what happened here. First of all the freelancer has decided a no communication approach from the moment he ended the contract. I could not talk to him anymore to tell him that I needed his bio as a writer so I can publish the first story on the website for example. Now I cannot publish the story he already sent me and I paid for. He BLOCKED me for absolutely no reason, prior to my feedback. Second , if he had an emergency, which can happened to anyone, he could just have told me in the chat section and I would have understood and moved on. He says he sent me a private message. I did not see this private message until after I left the feedback as it was not visible in the feedback section, I wish I took a snapshot of that. It appeared after I left the feedback. I left my feedback, saw his message and immediately contacted Upwork so I can address that part and update my feedback based on the new information. I actually proceeded to do that already by answering to his own feedback and clarify the situation. Still, he ignored it and called me evil, showing he has no intention to fix this amiably, which reflects his initial decision to block me for no reason. So he read my initial feedback and he proceeded to UNBLOCK me and sent me a message that what I did was evil and he will sort it out with Upwork. And BLOCKED me again while I was answering him (behavior he conveniently leaves out of his own feedback, as he refuses any communication). I have snapshots. This blocking gesture came out of the blue. I did not know it is customary to block clients after you end your contract because you have an emergency. So that was it. A misunderstanding that could have been easily fixed. No need to talk about evil and accuse me of underhanded methods. I did not have the whole information available. Thus Upwork decided to give me the chance to explain it, unlike him, and I have updated the number of stars to reflect the story he send me and now I cannot use. The one star is for communication which was zero after the first milestone. I have had hundreds of contracts here that I managed with no issues.
