Experienced Grant Writer and Government Procurement Consultant Needed
My experience with this grant writer was mixed. He was respectful, professional, and generally followed my instructions once I provided them. I appreciated his willingness to revise his work based on my feedback and his professional demeanor throughout our engagement.
However, I hired him with the primary goal of securing funding through grants and scholarships, and unfortunately, I did not receive any awards during the time we worked together. We submitted applications to nearly 100 grant opportunities, and despite the significant investment of both time and money, I did not obtain any funding. Since the purpose of hiring a grant writer is to improve the likelihood of securing grants, this was very disappointing.
There were also times when I felt I did not receive complete or transparent updates unless I specifically asked for additional information. While I cannot speak to his intentions, I would have appreciated more proactive communication throughout the process.
Although he has stated that he has successfully helped others obtain grants, that was not my experience. Based on the outcome of our engagement, I cannot say that the service provided a return on my investment.
That said, grant funding is inherently competitive, and no grant writer can guarantee an award. If, in the future, one of the grant applications he prepared is ultimately funded, I would certainly reconsider working with him again because he was respectful, professional, and receptive to feedback. At this point, however, based on my own experience and the results I received, I cannot recommend his services for organizations whose primary objective is to secure grant funding.
