As an Executive Chef, I earned seven consecutive Michelin stars (2010-2017). I now own and operate three high-end, full-service restaurants. My next goal is to help aspiring chefs and first-time restaurant owners succeed for the long term by helping them plan the financial and business sides of their projects.

I've only ever worked in restaurants. Never been paid to do anything
else. From Mexican chain restaurants to three-Michelin-star temples
of gastronomy--from St. Helena to San Sebastian--I can't say I've
seen it all, but I've seen an awful lot. I worked in several of the
world's best kitchens, and earned seven Michelin stars as Executive
Chef of Solbar in Napa Valley before returning to North Carolina in
2016.

Hawthorne & Wood, my love letter to California cuisine, opened
in April of 2019 and had its first, and we were afraid last, birthday
during the Covid pandemic. But it's thriving today.

We opened Bluebird in July of 2022 after an extensive, expensive
restaurant remodel. It's a stunning French bistro in the classic
style.

Proximo, our latest venture, is a jewel of a downtown spot that
features tapas, paella, and an all-Iberian wine list. All three
restaurants are in Chapel Hill, NC.
