Soft Skills and Leadership Trainers Needed for 2025
We engaged Sarah for a learning program design and facilitation project and, unfortunately, had a mixed experience.
On the positive side, the content she developed was well-written, and she was generally punctual and responsive during meetings with our internal team.
However, several key issues significantly affected the overall delivery and outcome of the program:
Despite stating she had 20 years of facilitation experience, Sarah declined to participate in a dry run or collaborate with our client-side stakeholders — both of which are standard expectations in our engagements to ensure quality and alignment.
She also opted not to deliver a facilitator introduction, preferring to focus solely on the content. While we respect her approach, we believe that a proper introduction plays a vital role in creating a psychologically safe environment for participants and is essential for building rapport and engagement.
The program itself experienced a steady decline in participant attendance over the course of the sessions, indicating possible gaps in relevance and delivery.
Most critically, Sarah did not reflect our company’s brand or values as we had communicated to the client. As a result, we lost future opportunities with that client — a significant and unfortunate business outcome we cannot overlook.
