You will have to babysit this guy and give him step by step instructions to get a website that a high schooler can make. No where his skills are up to date where he should be charging $100 or any money. I asked to redo my site and to make it look good. I was open in what the design and just wanted it to give him access and him be creative and create a nice site. I am not a picky person and just wanted a clean professional website. I even bought a premium theme off Shopify because he suggested it. So all he had to do was make it look nice given the template. This site he created was not nice. I had to watch over him and constant texts. He said website was done but their was spelling mistakes on the site. I felt like I was getting pranked or this was a joke. He added reviews which was nice but kept reviews that were not related to my site. And I had to check it and had to tell him you need to delete those. So if you don't mind micro managing and have a strong opinion what you want he will do it but it was a headache trying to work with him. Also he made changes to my original site (like deleted my collections) that I had, he did fix it but I was upset about that and had to go tell him to fix it. And he was trying to tell me that i have to go in and fix it. He did end up fixing it but it was like why do i have to tell you this and what am i paying you for. I had product details on all my products and he didn't put this on the new site. He convinced me to buy a premium theme on Shopify and then just left the product details as the template had it. My site is jewelry after he txted he was done the product details were talking about shoes. Like what!?!? Why should i have to tell you that especially someone who does this as a JOB. Also I had to tell him multiple times men's jewelry collection should not be on the women's page. Yeah tried to tell me that I can do that and then said he fixed it but didn't.
The only reason why I am not giving him one star is because he was nice and I feel really bad for even giving him 2 stars. He also did do a good job making my logo, I am really happy about that. I feel bad for being blunt and honest but he needs to put more effort and felt like i got scammed a little bit. He did offer to redo it to what I want but after all of it I am like no I do not even want to deal with this. He is also banned on Fiver so maybe that should of been my hint not to hire him. He was nice and i am not sure if he tried and just doesn't know what to do or if its just laziness or maybe my communication wasn't the best idk. I didn't have strong opinion about how I wanted my site to look so maybe that was the issue on my end but some of it I feel like it was common sense that I had to tell him.
