I have a passion for animals, all animals (except flies and mosquitos, I don't like them) and would be delighted to create a drawing of your pet. My drawings can be framed to make great gifts, memorials, and office art. I can also create concept art for your project. Base paper size is 8x10 on acid-free drawing paper. I have have been leading a volunteer game development team online since 2003. We have released the racing game Chariots, the board game Silvergarde Chronicles, and are still working on the Christian MMORPG title Visions. I have also released some smaller game projects on my own individual effort which did not require the effort of the full team: Messiah (a card game), Treasures in Heaven (a board game), Pedich Edhellen (an immersion method Elvish language ap), and as all game developers seem to have in common we also have several other projects on the back burner that we would like to finish someday. I have taught myself 3D game art and animation, 2D graphic art in Photoshop, marketing skills, and some minor web development skills (primarily using Wordpress) as well as general leadership skills as a result of working on these projects. We are making the most difficult type of game possible under the most challenging circumstances, but we believe that all things are possible with God.
CREATIVE WRITING
I have many years of casual writing experience extending back to the 1980's. More recently, I have been published in magazines such as "Unveiled Purpose" and "The Old Schoolhouse". I have been a NaNoWriMo winner every year since 2011 (except for 2015 when we were selling our house) completing the challenge of writing 50,000 words in a month writing a novel. I have had my articles published on other websites, in addition to my own blog postings and content creation for my own websites. I was asked to write an article for the church which was published in our church Christmas devotional booklet "Do You Hear What I Hear" for the 2011 Christmas season.
PENCIL DRAWINGS
I have a talent for 2D pencil drawings. My best work is with animals, and I really prefer to draw animals over other subjects. I work best with a photo reference. Do you know someone who has a beloved pet, or recently lost a beloved pet to eternity, that you would like to bless them with a custom, one-of-a-kind, commemorative drawing? I can help with that.
3D ART AND ANIMATION
My experience in 3D art is primarily related to game development, creating low-poly models that are game ready. I primarily use Milkshape and Fragmotion for my artwork, though I am learning to use Blender as well, and I can export to most common formats, including .DAE (Collada) and .FBX format which are common game engine model formats. (I do not have a professional MAX or MAYA license, and therefore can not read those formats or export to those formats, or use any exporters which require MAX or MAYA to get the artwork into a proprietary format.) I have used Torque Constructor for brush art which can export to .MAP format as well. I can create LOD for game engines that require mesh LODs on the model. And I know how to use Photoshop to convert textures to other formats, including .DDS format.
For animtation I can import a .BVH skeleton and human animation to the skeleton to create a variety of different movements for a humanoid character. I can also create a skeleton from scratch for models with unique skeleton needs, such as for birds and quadrapeds. And I can keyframe animate animations onto the model using Fragmotion to create any type of animation needed.
2D GRAPHIC ART
I can create buttons or icons complete with _n _h _d _i variations for use in games. If a special font is required, I may need to charge an additional fee if the font is a proprietary (not free) font so that I may legally use the font on the buttons. I can also modify textures to make them tileable textures. I can create textures with alpha layer transparency. I can slice an image into equal portions using the slice tool in Photoshop, and then save it in .PNG format (or convert the images to any other format you desire). And I can use the nVidia plugin to create normal maps from a graphic image. I can do minor touch-ups of photos, such as to remove blemishes, or edit out minor flaws. I'm not quite to the blending skill of some of the artists who contribute their work to the worth1000 site however, I can't make a monkey look like it has a zebra skin yet so if that's what you're looking for I may fall short of your expectations. I can however create a variety of different colors from the same texture, and I can match a font to a color in an image.
I am currently seeking short term freelance work as an artist, animator, or creative writer to fill a financial need that volunteer work has not been able to satisfy.
