Unfortunately, my experience with this freelancer was disappointing and fell far short of my expectations. I contracted this designer for a side project, trusting their promise of expertise and professionalism. However, the quality of work delivered was far below the standard advertised. The first milestone, which I honoured and paid in full, consisted of two PNG images that were clearly taken from Google — something I could have done myself.
In reality he should of delivered a full web page design - two png's is laughable really.
The freelancer demonstrated a clear lack of the skills and creativity they initially promised. Despite this, they still requested full payment for the remaining contract. While I honoured my side of the agreement and paid the full amount, the contract had to be cancelled prematurely due to their inability to deliver satisfactory work.
Throughout the process, the freelancer was stubborn and unprofessional in addressing feedback and concerns. It wasn’t until I mentioned that I am a Senior Developer, with experience working alongside exceptional designers, that they became slightly more cooperative.
This was a side project, which is why I chose to outsource the design work on Upwork. However, I regret choosing this freelancer and will not be working with them again.
