Brand Guidelines Design
I hired Jasim to develop a comprehensive brand guideline, expecting him to take the lead as an expert in the field. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.
Key Concerns:
• Lack of Proactive Expertise – Instead of providing strategic guidance, he primarily acted as an order taker. I had to provide extensive direction rather than relying on his expertise to shape the project.
• Minimal Thought Leadership – I expected him to make informed decisions and present well-thought-out recommendations, but much of the work lacked depth and originality.
• Cold & Impersonal Communication – Communication felt transactional, with little engagement or collaboration.
• Delayed Timeline – What was initially expected to take three days stretched to four weeks, requiring constant follow-ups and revisions.
• Excessive Back-and-Forth – Due to the lack of clear decision-making on his part, I had to invest more time than anticipated to get the project across the finish line.
Final Thoughts:
While he did ultimately deliver the project, the process was frustratingly inefficient. I paid more than I believe the work was worth and will likely have to redo the brand guidelines to get the quality I was looking for. I wouldn’t recommend Jasim for projects that require strong creative leadership or independent decision-making. Wishing him the best in his future endeavors, but I won’t be working with him again.
