As a psychology nerd at heart, somewhere along the way that pulled me into instructional design. I wanted to understand not just how a page looks, but how someone actually uses it, learns from it, and comes back to it.
I trained in it deliberately (partly to build my own planner collection), and it turned out to be exactly the skill that was missing from most workbook designs.
There wasn't a name for combining that with writing and layout, so I made one up: Content Transformation Specialist.
If you already have a polished, structured manuscript and just need it typeset, do not worry, I do that, too—and do it well.
But where I add the most value is earlier: turning a rough idea, a messy Word document, or a half-finished outline into a book or workbook that readers can actually use and a client can actually sell.
What I actually do:
* Workbook development: structure, content flow, and pedagogy for workbooks, planners, journals, and interactive guides, built from the ground up, not just laid out
* Book & eBook interior design: InDesign typesetting, print-ready PDFs, formatting for KDP, IngramSpark, or your publisher's specifications
* Educational PDFs & lead magnets: guides, PDF books, spreadsheets, downloadable resources built to be used, not just downloaded and forgotten
* Editing: as part of the books and workbooks I build, tightening and refining the content alongside the design, not offered as a standalone service
Let me tell you how I do it:
1. Research: I get into your goals, your audience, and what the finished piece needs to do for them.
2. Design samples: before full production starts, I present a few design samples for you to choose from, so you're picking an approach and a visual style
3. You choose: once you pick the direction that fits your project best, I build the whole piece in that style
4. Building: structure, content editing, and design happen together as I go and I refine all three as the piece comes together
5. Delivery: clean, print-ready or platform-ready files, on time
