I´m a Mexican citizen looking to pay for my education. I recently got accepted in Hawaii Pacific University to study marine biology. I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to follow my dream and find a community of people interested in the protection of our planet and our oceans.
Currently I am a dance teacher in a ballet dance academy in my city, however the payment I receive could never get me through a day in college if I were to pay bills in American dollars. The difference in currency is the main issue in this situation. My dad is a hard working man that has provided my brothers and I with great education and opportunities. Nevertheless, the market in Mexico and business opportunities are constantly changing.
Aside from being a dance teacher, I manage an instagram account for a marine sustainability organization, I design courses for young kids interested in marine animals, I also write scientific papers, and I am a certified paramedic in medical emergencies. I was also able to volunteer for a month in Belize in a marine conservation program which gave me experiences and tools important for project management.
I am more than interested in working to support my parents with the college bills. I am in full disposition to do whatever is needed to find a way to pay for my education in Hawaii and follow my dream.
