3D Technical Artist for High-Quality Anime Web Character (ARKit Blendshapes)
I hired a freelancer to deliver a 3D anime character model that was fully rigged, blendshape-complete, and ready for real-time web animation, based on very clear requirements shared in the job post, Notion brief, and Miro style guide.
While the initial concept and static renders looked promising, the final animated model failed to meet core technical requirements, including proper topology, required bones, and ARKit-compatible blendshapes.
During facial animation, the model breaks down severely, with major distortions that make it unusable in practice. These issues indicate a lack of proper rigging and morph support, despite explicit instructions and references provided from the start.
The result was an unviable asset that caused a delay of roughly three weeks and cannot be integrated into our pipeline without a full rebuild.
Based on this outcome, the work does not meet the agreed scope or technical standards, and I requested a refund accordingly.
Muaz didnt take time to understand what we needed, didnt communicate the challenges, and each next version model till the animated one looked worse and worse.
I wish i could share the images here:
1. prototype - beautiful
2. 3d version - not that beautiful, but acceptable by now.
3. ugly, unusable animated rendered version - nothing like #1 or #2 even.
