Advanced D3.js Data Visualizations | React.js Digital Dashboards

I have a passion for data visualization using D3.js and React.js.

My work has focused on advanced customization and intuitive user interactions, both in the diagrams themselves (using interactions triggered by mouse-overs) and as a separate user interface, (using radio buttons, sliders, check-boxes and toggles). My PhD was in Visual Perception, and I use insights from this research to produce elegant, intuitive displays which present complex data intelligently and clearly.

I have ten years of experience creating websites, five of which were using React, Redux, Node, MUI and Next. I also have extensive back-end experience, using Node and PostgreSQL. I have written a couple of books on computer science and most recently was collaborating on a book on PostgreSQL

The portfolio below illustrates examples of work I have done for clients around the world. This includes:

• Interactivity - such as drill-down when you mouse over a point.
• Tool-tips – showing the underlying data in more detail.
• Animations – smooth transitions between data-sets.
• Zoom – move around larger diagrams to see hidden detail.
• A user interface - such as a slider to move between multiple data sets.
• Data connectivity - I can link your D3 data visualization to a PostgreSQL database.
• Data grid - I can build a data-grid on your website for easy data input.

I can create the following D3.js data visualizations:

• Bar charts (stacked or simple)
• Line charts (single lines/multiple lines/variable number of lines)
• Area charts (single/multiple/variable number)
• Scatter plots (single/multiple/variable)
• Pie charts/Donut Charts
• Sankey Diagrams (with smooth transitions between data sets)
• Sunburst Diagrams (with colour schemes based on value, depth, etc.)
• Icicle Charts
• Radar Diagrams (Spider Charts)
• Bubble Charts
• Chloropleths (geographical mapping)
• Circle packing (Circular Treemap) diagrams
• Chord Diagrams
• Treemaps
• Network Diagrams
