Why - when sales teams price things in an opportunity or quote, there is often custom business logic that goes along with that and makes it so that pricing can be a process filed with specifics to your business. When there are pricing rules involved companies even sometimes have salespeople doing their own thing, with the sales process becoming tribal knowledge which is the worst-case scenario. The calculator aims to give point-and-click access to be able to configure a complex calculator without having to worry about code and costs of developers.
When- during the sales process when a customer is interested in getting a quote on products from a salesforce customer using salesforce as their quote to cash mechanism.
