Project details
Building a SaaS product means getting the backend architecture right from the start. A poorly structured backend becomes expensive to fix once you have real users. I build Django SaaS backends that are clean, modular, and designed to scale without accumulating technical debt.
I have built two production multi-tenant SaaS platforms — including a live digital commerce platform and an accounting SaaS with QuickBooks, Square, and Wave integrations — so I understand what a SaaS backend actually needs in production, not just in theory.
What I Implement
• User authentication with JWT and session management
• Role-based access control with granular permissions
• Multi-tenant architecture using django-tenants where required
• Clean modular architecture designed for long-term extension
• PostgreSQL database schema built for SaaS data patterns
• Full API documentation and deployment-ready setup
Scope Breakdown
• Starter — Authentication, roles, and basic REST API
• Standard — Auth, roles, Stripe subscriptions, and webhooks
• Advanced — Complete modular SaaS backend with multi-tenant support, deployment, CI/CD, and full documentation
Built for production. Documented. Ready to scale.

My work covers two distinct modes: taking over broken systems and restoring them, and building complex platforms from the ground up.
PROJECT 1 — Sellzzy (Multi-Tenant Digital Commerce SaaS)
Sellzzy is a live multi-tenant SaaS platform where digital creators sell products, manage subscriptions, and run storefronts. Over nearly two years I grew from developer to leading the engineering team, owning architectural decisions and maintaining delivery standards on a live production system.
¶ The problem when I joined:
• Homepage took 90+ seconds to load — effectively unusable
• Dependencies severely outdated with cascading compatibility failures
• Code quality issues blocking developer contributions
• Zero documentation, preventing team onboarding
¶ What I delivered:
• 98% load time reduction — from 90+ seconds to under 1 second
• Store owner dashboard loads in ~0.5 seconds
• Customer storefront loads in ~1 second average
• Designed a hybrid Django MVT + REST API architecture — server-side rendering for speed and SEO, AJAX-driven APIs for dynamic data — delivering a modern SPA-like experience without a full frontend framework rebuild
• Refactored the entire codebase, upgraded all dependencies, and restructured the architecture
• Built comprehensive documentation that restored developer velocity across the team
• Led the engineering team for the final 7 months: architectural decisions, code review, and delivery standards
PROJECT 2 — CashSheets (Multi-Tenant Accounting SaaS)
CashSheets is a multi-tenant accounting SaaS I architected and built solo, from an open source foundation (django-ledger) to a fully structured production-ready system.
¶ What I built:
• Multi-tenant architecture using django-tenants with full tenant isolation
• Pluggable integration framework connecting QuickBooks Online, Square POS, and Wave — built once, reused for every future integration
• Wagtail CMS as the platform-level administration layer
• Complete subscription management system built inside Wagtail
• Dual-level Stripe integration — platform billing and tenant-level payment processing as two separate concerns in one codebase
¶ TECH STACK
• Backend: Python, Django, DRF, Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, django-tenants, Wagtail
• Frontend: React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL
• Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, SES, CodePipeline), Digital Ocean, Docker, Nginx, CI/CD
• Integrations: Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, QuickBooks Online, Square POS, Wave
¶ SERVICES
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture and development
• REST API design and development (DRF)
• Legacy system rescue — performance, architecture, dependency modernization
• Full-stack development (Django + React / Next.js)
• Third-party integrations (accounting, payments, POS)
• Stripe subscription billing — platform and tenant level
• AWS deployments and CI/CD pipelines
• Wagtail CMS implementation
• MVP development from idea to production
• Technical team leadership and code review
I have handled both sides of the hardest Django work — rescuing a broken production system under live traffic, and architecting a complex multi-tenant platform from scratch with no one else to defer to.
If you are building a SaaS product, need a Django system architected properly, or want a developer who has led teams and delivered on real production systems — let's talk.
