After reviewing your mapping and geospatial requirements with you, I will recommend then implement the best technologies to map your data in Power BI, in combination with:
- Built-in visuals: Filled Map, Azure Maps, ESRI ArcGIS
- Third-party visuals: Mapbox, Icon Map
- Geospatial APIs: Google Maps & Street View, Placekey, HERE, TomTom, Bing, Nominatim, Radar, GeoDB..
- Geospatial data sources: US and other national census services, regional and municipal open data, commercial vendors...
Advanced features include:
- Custom boundaries from geojson / topojson / shapefile sources, from countries down to neighborhoods
- Color-coded 3D buildings
- Data clustering
- Multivariate conditional formatting for circle size and color
- Custom tilesets with light and dark themes, satellite view, boundaries
- Data-driven layers such as weather, traffic, infrastructure networks, etc.
- Geocoding, reverse geocoding, geofencing
- Blending your source data with census demographics (e.g. per capita sales)
