Clients often have a list of company names that they want to match against another larger list. But, the names don't match exactly - like Microsoft vs. Microsoft Corp, or Red Cross vs. American Red Cross vs. The American National Red Cross. (Although company names are the most common request, I've matched school names, hospital names, accommodation names, book titles, music titles, and much more.)
To do this requires fuzzy matching. Fuzzy matching finds the best match for each item and scores the quality of the match between 0% and 100%. I can deliver a list with the best match (and a score) for each item.

I am more than a spreadsheet hobbyist. My 40+ years as a software developer and software executive, and my mathematics and statistics degree lead me to approaching Excel and Google Sheets projects as a software engineer - very systematically with accuracy, robustness, and performance in mind.
