Project details
Your application works. Your data is already there. The question is: where does AI actually make sense — and how do you add it without breaking what's already running in production?
Most AI freelancers work top-down in Python and hand you an API wrapper. I work across the full stack — from Python orchestration layers through C#/.NET business logic down to C/C++ performance-critical code. That means AI features that are actually integrated, not bolted on.
Capabilities I bring to legacy applications:
• Computer vision: object detection, facial recognition, classification
• Predictive analytics and anomaly detection on existing data streams
• LLM integration (local models or API-based, on-premises where required)
• Edge inference: Jetson Orin, Raspberry Pi, ESP32
Start with the feasibility report. You'll know exactly what's possible, what it costs, and what to do first — before committing to a full build.
Message me before ordering if you'd like to discuss your specific stack.
"Currently delivering this for a C++11 enterprise financial application — adding facial recognition as a second authentication factor with zero codebase disruption."

About Christie
Senior Software Engineer | C++, Python, SQL & AI/Data Systems
Centurion, South Africa - 4:47 am local time
and AI/ML integration — including 8 years as a core developer on a complex
C++ enterprise production system where correctness, performance, and
reliability are non-negotiable.
That system was PLATO — a mature enterprise platform for real-time
multi-day planning, scheduling, and distribution control. That means I'm
comfortable in large legacy codebases, I understand performance trade-offs,
and I know how to deliver features without breaking what's already working.
More recently I've moved into Python backend development, cloud architecture,
and AI/ML integration. I've built a production-grade REST API (FastAPI,
PostgreSQL, Docker) aggregating financial transaction data across 8 payment
rails, and architected a multi-tenant SaaS backend on AWS (Lambda, API
Gateway, DynamoDB) with role-based access control and secure data
partitioning. I've also built real-time computer vision pipelines in C++
using YOLO and OpenCV — so I can go from cloud to edge when the work calls
for it.
What I bring beyond the technical skills:
→ I've run my own businesses. I understand that software has to solve real
problems and deliver value — not just be technically elegant.
→ I've acted as the bridge between clients, implementation consultants, and
engineering. I can translate business requirements into technical specs and
communicate clearly across both sides.
→ I work independently and take full ownership. I'm not someone who needs
hand-holding through a ticket queue.
I'm based in South Africa (SAST, UTC+2) and available for both async and
real-time collaboration.
What I can help you with:
- Backend APIs — FastAPI, Python, REST design, authentication, PostgreSQL
- Data pipelines — ingestion, normalisation, transformation, SQL optimisation
- C++ development — feature work, performance fixes, legacy codebase
improvements, system architecture
- AWS serverless — Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3
- AI/ML integration — model integration, computer vision pipelines,
YOLO-based detection and tracking
- Database design — schema design, complex queries, migrations, MS SQL Server,
MySQL, PostgreSQL
Let's talk about what you're building.
Steps for completing your project
After purchasing the project, send requirements so Christie can start the project.
Delivery time starts when Christie receives requirements from you.
Christie works on your project following the steps below.
Revisions may occur after the delivery date.
Discovery & Stack Review (Day 1)
I'll review your application description, architecture notes, and any shared documentation to map the integration landscape.
AI Opportunity Analysis (Days 1–2)
I'll identify 2–3 concrete AI features that are technically viable for your stack, along with the integration approach for each — what changes, what doesn't, and what the risks are.
